On August 8, 2015, I had the pleasure of attending and participating in the “Own It” event presented by Kim of Naturally Fashionable. The sold out event was held in Raleigh, NC at Crabtree Valley Mall’s community room. The purpose of the event was to celebrate curvy fashion and own the beauty within you.

Guests enjoyed refreshments while learning about natural hair, makeup, blogging and social media, and taking your wardrobe from day to night. Additionally, Kim did a presentation about body confidence and personal style that was very beneficial for all ladies in attendance.

Between each panel discussion, attendees were able to visit the wonderful vendors, partake in tasty cupcakes from the cupcake sponsors, and of course, take pictures! I had the opportunity to be on the Blogger Q&A panel with Kim and Shanell of Glo Glo Shanell. Shanell and I were both participants in Kim’s first Blogging Bootcamp Beginner’s Course. During the panel discussion we shared what we learned from the course and also spoke about the importance of having a strong social media presence when blogging.

All in all, the “Own It” event was a hit! I’m thankful I had the opportunity to be a part of something so awesome. I really enjoyed meeting and networking with so many talented women, while discussing some of my favorite things: fashion, hair, beauty and blogging.
