Gold Mid Heels- Anthropologie
Pearl Earrings and Bracelet- The Limited
I know people say you should not wear white after Labor Day but who are “these” people and why should I have to follow “their” rules? When it comes to fashion, I tend to create my own rules. I wear what I feel comfortable in and what I feel is flattering. Continue reading to learn about three ways to look good in white clothing.
1. Make sure your clothing is not too tight.
Wearing clothing that is ill fitting is bad in itself, but wearing an all white outfit that is too small is just plain terrible. Make sure you are wearing the size that fits you best (regardless of the number) so that you can move around comfortably in your outfit.
2. Wear the proper undergarments.
I am so thankful that my mom taught my sisters and I the importance of undergarments. From a very young age, I remember always wearing a slip under dresses and skirts and an undershirt beneath blouses. To this day, I always wear undergarments under these types of items. Sometimes when you wear white or other light colors, you can see through the garment if it is made out of a thin material and/or does not already come fully lined. That’s when having the proper undergarments is imperative. Whenever I’m wearing anything in a light color, I always wear undergarments in tan, nude or white. This helps to keep my entire look polished.
Accessorizing adds visual appeal to an outfit. I chose to accessorize by adding pearl earrings and a pearl bracelet with gold detail. The gold detail in the earrings and bracelet compliment the gold sling back heels. These jewelry choices add a simple yet elegant charm to the look.
I hope you find these tips to be helpful. If you have any others you would like to share, leave them in the comments section below.

Yeah, I don’t know who these people are. I’m all about wearing what makes me feel good.
Few things hurt my feelings more than an all-white outfit that’s too tight!!
You look lovely! Love the dress and the shoe choice. Simple and classic!
This look is beautiful and definitely a reminder to play by your own rules. Classy is the best word used to describe this look from top to bottom. White can be a tricky color but as mentioned FOUNDATION, FOUNDATION, FOUNDATION is the key. Great job showing how white should be worn. #flawless
Yes! Foundation garments are most important! Thanks for commenting!
