When I go out, I don’t always feel like dressing up or being extra fancy. Sometimes, I just want to be relaxed yet still pulled together. At times like these, I often reach for a great pair of jeans and a simple top. Wearing jeans and a top is great, but it’s always good to step it up a notch by adding more to the look.

One way to take this simple outfit to the next level is by adding jewelry. In this case, I decided to wear a statement necklace. The necklace is bold. It enhances the look and adds visual appeal. Since the necklace makes a huge statement, I opted for a simple pair of stud earrings.

Another way to make this look standout is by adding a nice handbag. The cobalt blue clutch brings a nice pop of color to the outfit. The bag also makes a statement, yet doesn’t compete with the bold necklace.

There are other ways to make a simple outfit standout. For instance, one can wear a scarf in a nice print, throw on a structured blazer or put on a fierce pair of pumps. In my opinion, however, incorporating bold and colorful accessories into a basic look is the best and simplest way to make an outfit go from boring to fashionable.
