Horizontal stripes have been popular for a while now. I often see cute striped shirts and dresses, but have always been reluctant to wear them. Why? Horizontal stripes add width, and as a busty woman, I prefer to minimize and draw attention away from my upper body.
Although horizontal stripes create the illusion of a wider frame, I decided to make the trend work for me. As opposed to picking a garment with large stripes, I opted for one with thin stripes. For someone with a large chest, thin stripes are more visually appealing.
In addition to selecting thin stripes, I decided to add a blazer. The blazer helps to break up the width that the stripes create and instantly takes the focus off the chest area and brings it to the blazer and bottom half of the dress. In my opinion, this is the simplest way to wear stripes when you’re busty.
How do you make stripes work for you? Let me know in the comments below!

I love the layered look and the colors compliment each other well. I also love the idea of breaking up the stripes with the blazer. I usually have to wear something over my arms anyway for work, plus I just think wearing blazers with dresses is cute!! LOL #BLMGirl
Thanks Mionna!
Love the stripes! I think that tripe dress could go with a bunch of things! Loving the black necklace too!!!!
Thanks Laura!

Thank you!
I love stripes but always avoided horizontal stripes. But now, I think I may give them a shot. I like the blazer idea. Looking good! ~ Visiting you from #BLMGirls
